A moment before something happens.

1/8 BORROWED is a photographic project that explores the indeterminacy of existence through a fragmented visual narrative.

The artist begins the story by photographing seemingly unconnected characters, places and gestures. From these initial conditions, the narrative takes shape through a system of chance that weaves together what emerges from the photographs and what the artist perceives while shooting, guided by predetermined criteria of observation.

Lives seemingly unrelated to one another may intersect, creating unexpected connections and sometimes retroactively changing the meaning of earlier images.

What emerges is a story with no predetermined outcome, in which each photograph holds a moment but cannot reveal what will follow.
