The BID was founded in 2018 as a space for the arts in Pesaro.
A physical, defined place where works could take shape and be put to the test.
From the beginning, together with Andrey Martynov, it initiated a dialogue with internationally recognized artists and curators – including Laurence Gartel, Frank Dituri, Anton Ivanov, Fran Kaufman, Cato Lein, Shigeru Yoshida, Peter Miller and Vladimir Martynov – creating a dialogue that extended beyond the local context.
This process soon revealed a limitation: space.
Not as a physical constraint, but as a boundary.
From July 1, 2021, that space is left behind.
It is not a closure. It is a shift.
From place to network.
From physical presence to an active system.
The BID becomes a network operating across multiple levels and contexts, engaging with institutional museums, private galleries, and independent spaces, both in Italy and abroad.
No longer a space to inhabit.
But a structure that moves, selects, and builds relationships.
In the meantime, a possibility emerges.
Not as a return, but as another form: a more open space, a threshold, where the research could extend into sound.
The projects activated through The BID are an integral part of my work and are presented in the respective sections of this site. The BID is not a separate container, but an operational tool.
A way to construct contexts, activate collaborations, and bring the work beyond a fixed perimeter.
Alongside this, the Leopoldo Uccellini Foundation represents a second level of action.
If The BID activates relationships, the Foundation translates the work into concrete intervention.
Two distinct yet complementary tools.
Two ways through which the work takes shape in the world.
The BID is the point where conditions are activated.
Where the work enters into relation.
Not a place.
A threshold.
