ES-SENZA – Giovanni Gennari, The Bid Art Space, 2021

A commemorative solo exhibition of photographer Giovanni Gennari and presentation of the book ES-SENZA
With the patronage of the Marche Region, the Municipality of Pesaro, and the Municipality of Cagli

Writing about Giovanni Gennari is beyond my ability.
His work is too vast, too alive to be contained.

Our friendship began in the early days of The BID.
Giovanni was there. He observed.
And when he spoke, he did so without filters, with a rare honesty — always necessary.

I still remember when I asked him to exhibit.
His answer was simple:
“What should I bring?”

Then he arrived with a new intuition.
A territory he was just beginning to explore.
What I saw was not just photography — it was a vision.
A synthesis of worlds, capable of holding together East and West without shortcuts.

From that moment on, Giovanni became part of The BID.
He had the keys to the door – and, in some way, to my thoughts.

One regret remains.
A project of ours, never realized.
